How can we help?

Find answers about using My Immigration Helper, saving your journey, understanding results, managing your account, practicing civics questions, alerts, privacy, and support.

Important: My Immigration Helper provides general information and educational guidance only. It is not a law firm, does not provide legal advice, and does not submit applications or forms to USCIS or any government agency. Immigration situations can be fact-specific, so consider qualified legal help before making major filing, travel, or interview decisions.
About the App

About My Immigration Helper

What is My Immigration Helper?

My Immigration Helper is an informational app designed to help people better understand possible immigration pathways, common next steps, saved roadmaps, civics practice, and official immigration resources.

The app uses guided questions to organize information in a simpler way, but it does not replace legal advice from a qualified immigration professional.

Is My Immigration Helper a law firm?

No. My Immigration Helper is not a law firm and does not act as an attorney or accredited representative.

The app is intended to provide general information, educational explanations, and organized guidance to help users better understand immigration topics and possible next steps.

Does the app give legal advice?

No. The app does not provide legal advice, legal opinions, or final eligibility decisions. The information in the app is general and educational.

If your situation involves criminal history, prior removal, unlawful presence, misrepresentation, a false claim to U.S. citizenship, immigration court, missing records, or other complex facts, consider speaking with a qualified immigration attorney or accredited representative.

Can the app tell me exactly what to file?

The app can suggest general pathways, common forms, and possible next steps based on your answers. It cannot guarantee that a specific form, filing strategy, or timing decision is correct for your situation.

Always review official instructions and consider qualified legal help before filing anything with USCIS, the Department of State, an immigration court, or any government agency.

Why does the app use official immigration resources?

Immigration rules, forms, fees, and procedures can change. The app points users toward official resources so they can review current government information before making decisions.

Official resources are still not a substitute for legal advice when the facts are complicated.

When should I contact an immigration attorney?

Consider qualified legal help if your case includes criminal history, arrests, prior removal or deportation, unlawful presence, entry without inspection, fraud or misrepresentation, a false claim to U.S. citizenship, immigration court history, missing documents, public charge concerns, or anything you do not understand.

Legal help may also be important before leaving the United States, attending an interview, or filing a waiver or complex application.

Questionnaires

Questionnaire Pathways

How do the questionnaire pathways work?

The questionnaire pathways ask a series of questions about your situation. Your answers guide the app to the next relevant question, possible result, or caution.

The results are meant to help you understand possible pathways and issues to review. They are not final legal decisions.

Why does the app ask about my entry, status, or immigration history?

Entry, status, travel, work authorization, prior filings, and immigration history can affect which options may be available and whether legal review may be important.

The app asks these questions so it can identify common issues and avoid giving overly broad information that may not fit your situation.

What happens if I answer a question wrong?

If you think an answer was wrong, you can go back when available, restart the pathway, or complete the pathway again with corrected answers.

Because results depend on your answers, incorrect or uncertain answers can change the roadmap or cause the app to recommend legal review.

Why did I get a “legal review recommended” result?

“Legal review recommended” usually means your answers included an issue that may be legally sensitive, fact-specific, or risky to handle without professional guidance.

This does not always mean you are ineligible. It means the app is flagging something that should be reviewed carefully before filing, traveling, attending an interview, or relying on a particular pathway.

Why did my result change when I retook a pathway?

Results are based on the answers provided during that pathway session. If different answers are selected, the app may show a different result, caution, resource list, or recommended next step.

This can be helpful when comparing scenarios, but you should not guess on important facts.

Can I use the app for someone else, like a spouse or family member?

Yes, you may use the app to better understand a spouse’s, relative’s, friend’s, or family member’s possible situation, as long as the answers are based on accurate information.

Be careful with sensitive personal information. The person may need to review their own records or speak with a qualified immigration professional.

Does completing a pathway submit anything to USCIS?

No. Completing a pathway in the app does not submit an application, petition, form, payment, request, or evidence to USCIS or any government agency.

If you decide to file something, you must complete the proper process outside the pathway and follow the official filing instructions.

My Journey

Saved Journeys

What is My Journey?

My Journey is where saved pathway results and roadmaps can be stored so you can return to them later.

A saved journey may include your pathway result, general next steps, cautions, and related resources based on the answers provided during that session.

What happens when I save a result?

When you save a result, the app stores a copy of that pathway result in My Journey so it can be reviewed later from your account.

Saved results are for your own reference inside the app. They are not official immigration records and are not sent to the government.

Can I save more than one journey?

Yes. You can save more than one result if you are comparing different pathways, reviewing multiple family members’ situations, or returning to different topics over time.

Keep in mind that each saved journey reflects the answers provided at the time it was saved.

Can I delete a saved journey?

Yes. If the app provides a delete option for a saved journey, you can remove that saved result from your account.

Deleting a saved journey removes it from your app experience, but it does not affect any government filing, because the app does not submit filings to the government.

Can I edit a saved journey?

Saved journeys generally reflect the answers and result from the time they were created. If your facts changed or you answered something incorrectly, the best option is usually to retake the pathway and save a new result.

Keeping separate saved results can help you compare how different facts affect the general roadmap.

Why should I save a result?

Saving a result can help you return to your roadmap, review suggested next steps, gather documents, and remember issues the app flagged for review.

It can also help you compare pathways or organize questions before speaking with a qualified immigration professional.

Are saved journeys official immigration records?

No. Saved journeys are app records for your personal reference only. They are not USCIS records, Department of State records, court records, or official filings.

Account & Sign-In

Account and Sign-In

How do I create an account?

Open the app and follow the sign-up instructions on the authentication screen. You may be asked to provide an email address, password, and display name, or use an available sign-in provider.

After signing up, you may need to verify your email before all account features are available.

Why do I need an account?

An account allows the app to save information connected to your profile, such as saved journeys, civics practice progress, and account settings.

Without an account, some information may not be saved across devices or sessions.

How do I update my display name?

Go to the Account Hub or profile settings area in the app and look for the display name option. Follow the on-screen requirements and save your changes.

If the update does not appear immediately, refresh the page or close and reopen the app.

I did not receive a verification email. What should I do?

Check your spam, junk, promotions, or filtered email folders first. Make sure the email address was typed correctly during sign-up.

If the verification email still does not arrive, try requesting another verification email from the app. If the problem continues, contact support and include the email address used to create the account.

How do I reset my password?

Use the “Forgot password” or password reset option on the sign-in screen. The app should send reset instructions to the email address connected to your account.

If you do not receive the reset email, check spam or junk folders and confirm that you entered the correct email address.

Can I use Google or Apple sign-in?

If Google or Apple sign-in is available in your version of the app, you may use those options to access your account.

If you have trouble linking or using a sign-in provider, contact support and include which provider you used and what error appeared.

How do I delete my account?

Go to the Account Hub or profile settings area and look for the account deletion option. Follow the on-screen confirmation steps carefully.

Deleting your account may remove saved journeys, profile information, and other app data connected to that account. This action may not be reversible.

Privacy & Data

Privacy and Data

What information does the app save?

The app may save account information, profile details, saved journeys, civics practice progress, and other information needed to provide app features.

Review the Privacy Policy for a more complete explanation of what information may be collected, how it may be used, and what choices may be available.

Does the app save my questionnaire answers?

The app may save pathway results or journey details when you choose to save them to My Journey. The exact saved information may depend on the feature, account status, and app version.

Do not enter information you are not comfortable saving. If you have questions about saved data, review the Privacy Policy or contact support.

Can I delete my saved information?

You may be able to delete saved journeys or delete your account from the Account Hub or profile settings.

Account deletion may remove saved app information connected to your account. Some information may be retained only if required for security, legal, billing, or operational reasons described in the Privacy Policy.

Is my information sent to USCIS?

No. My Immigration Helper does not send your questionnaire answers, saved journeys, account information, or app results to USCIS or any government agency as part of completing a pathway.

If you separately choose to file a form or application with the government, that is outside the app’s questionnaire process.

Is my information shared with attorneys or third parties?

The app should not share your personal information with an attorney or third party for legal services unless a feature clearly tells you that information will be shared and you choose to use that feature.

Review the Privacy Policy for more details about service providers, app operations, analytics, support, and any other data sharing that may apply.

How is my account information protected?

The app uses account sign-in and technical safeguards intended to help protect user information. No app or online service can guarantee perfect security.

Use a strong password, keep your sign-in information private, and contact support if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.

Where can I read the Privacy Policy?

The Privacy Policy is available from the Help & Contact section of the Account Hub. It may also be available as a public page on the My Immigration Helper website.

Civics Practice

Civics Practice

What is the civics practice test?

The civics practice feature helps users study U.S. civics questions that may be relevant to the naturalization process.

It is a study tool only. It does not schedule an interview, file an application, or guarantee that you will pass the official interview.

How many questions are in the standard practice test?

The standard practice test in the app uses a set number of randomly selected questions for each practice attempt. The exact number may depend on the app version.

Review the test start screen in the app for the current number of questions before beginning.

What are Weak Points?

Weak Points are questions or topics you previously missed or may need to practice more. This feature helps you focus on areas that may need extra review.

Practicing weak points can help with study, but it does not guarantee a particular result during the naturalization interview.

Are my civics scores saved?

If you are signed in and the feature is available, the app may save civics practice attempts or progress so you can review your performance later.

If you are not signed in, your progress may not be saved across devices or sessions.

Does passing the practice test mean I will pass the USCIS interview?

No. Passing a practice test in the app does not guarantee that you will pass the official naturalization interview or any USCIS test.

The official interview may involve eligibility review, English ability, civics questions, your application, and other case-specific issues.

What is the 65/20 civics option?

Some older lawful permanent residents may qualify for special consideration in civics testing based on age and time as a permanent resident. The 65/20 option is intended to help users practice that related study set when available.

Eligibility for any testing accommodation, exemption, or special consideration depends on the facts and should be reviewed carefully before filing or attending an interview.

Alerts & Resources

Alerts and Resources

What are Alerts?

Alerts are informational updates intended to help users stay aware of immigration-related news, resources, or changes that may be relevant to app users.

Alerts are not legal advice and may not apply to every person’s situation.

How often are alerts updated?

Alerts may update when new information becomes available from the connected source or feed. Timing may depend on the source, the app’s refresh process, and your connection.

Always review official sources directly before relying on an alert for an important decision.

Are alerts legal advice?

No. Alerts are general informational updates only. They do not decide eligibility, explain every exception, or replace legal advice.

Why do some resources open outside the app?

Some resources may open in a browser because they are hosted by USCIS, the Department of State, or another external source.

Opening official resources outside the app helps users review the source information directly.

What should I do if a government link is broken?

If a link does not work, try refreshing the page, checking your internet connection, or opening the official website directly.

You can also report the broken link through the app’s Report a Problem option so it can be reviewed.

Troubleshooting & Contact

Troubleshooting and Support

A page is not loading. What should I do?

Check your internet connection, close and reopen the app, refresh the page if you are using the web version, or try again later.

If the issue continues, report the problem and include the page or feature you were using, what you were trying to do, and what happened.

The app gave me an error. What should I include when reporting it?

Include the page or feature where the error happened, the exact error message if one appeared, your device or browser, whether you were signed in, and the steps that led to the issue.

Screenshots can also help, but avoid sending sensitive immigration documents unless specifically requested through a secure support process.

How do I report a problem?

Use the Report a Problem option in the Help & Contact section of the Account Hub. The app may open a pre-filled support email so you can describe the issue.

Include enough detail for support to understand what happened and how to reproduce the issue.

How do I suggest a feature or correction?

Use the support contact option in the app and explain the feature, correction, or improvement you would like reviewed.

If the suggestion involves immigration information, include the page, question, or result where you noticed the issue.

How do I contact support?

You can contact support from the Help & Contact section of the Account Hub or by emailing support@myimmigrationhelper.com.

Please do not send highly sensitive documents unless support specifically asks for them through an appropriate process.

How long does support take to respond?

Response times may vary based on support volume and the type of request. If your question is urgent or involves a filing deadline, court date, interview, removal issue, or travel decision, consider qualified legal help instead of waiting for app support.

Still need help?

Contact support at support@myimmigrationhelper.com. Include the feature or page you were using, what you expected to happen, what actually happened, and any error message you saw.

Support can help with app issues, account questions, bugs, and content corrections. Support cannot provide legal advice or make immigration decisions.
